No one can avoid this Japanese curiosity: trains.
Talking about train and Japanese people should take all the day (I save this topic for my fourth year social research, don't worry)
I have always been fascinated by trains but nothing was equal to what I'm facing here in Japan.
Cause Japanese trains are part of my daily life, since I spend at least one hour and a half each day in them.
With the speed I like glance to at the city, people, and the life that passes by the windows. Cause here buildings are really close to the rails, sometimes less than 5 meters.
The perfect conditions to let go with my favourite activity : dreaming.
But each morning my heart skips a beat when suddenly I see dark walls from each side. That means I'm close to Shinjuku no eki (Shinjuku 's rail station) , that means I will soon have to go to work. Too bad^^
Rail stations are also interesting.
Everyday you see Japanese running after their trains.
They don't care if there is another one two minutes later, no, they have to run because if they board this train they think they will arrive on time”.
This obsession with punctuality and efficiency.
This is so intrinsic in this society that railway companies have to pay huge amounts in case of any delay to apologize to their customers.
So you have to take this into account. Because if in Japan you decide to commit suicide, railways can be a way but be careful where you do it.
Probably Japanese people will advise you “Chuo line “, the most famous line to commit suicide. Why Chuo Line? It's the cheapest railway company that charges the family's defunct.
I'm wondering since I'm in Japan I don't get a morbid curiosity.
Remember my first day from the airport in the train completely stuck? I thought about people sent to a concentration camp. And you know what? I still feel the same sometimes in the rush hours.
So until now there are two things I can be sure.
First Japanese people like to suffer.
Second I'm probably becoming a “densha otaku”, a person obsessed with trains."""""""
Comme quoi la vie déraille parfois
